Cornerstone's Second Annual Family Ministry Weekend
April 18-20, 2008
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" Isaiah 6:8
These questions still exist today. Who will go and share the message of God's love? We are commanded to go near and far to share the eternal message of God's love. Will you be a part of this year's Family Ministry Weekend? Will you answer the question as Isaiah did with, "Here am I. Send me?" Cornerstone's Family Ministry Weekend is designed to bring families together to go into the community to serve in the name of Jesus Christ. There are many opportunities to serve that vary in the type of work, length of commitment, and location.
On Friday night, team leaders will meet for dinner, prayer, and last minute logistics. Everyone will come together on Saturday morning at 8:00 am in the Family Life Center for a Continental Breakfast and prayer. Teams will then go to their assigned sites throughout Guilford and Forsyth Counties. The weekend will conclude on Sunday night with dinner, pictures, and testimonies about the weekend.
Weaver House
Offers year round shelter to adult men and women
Participants will be doing spring cleaning in kitchen, closet, and dorm rooms. Preschooler Friendly
Horsepower Therapeutic Learning Center
A non-profit organization serving the Piedmont Triad community since 1995. They provide therapeutic equine activities for over 250 individuals with disabilities each year. We have two opportunities for service at Horsepower.
Participants will be painting a barn.
Participants will serve as kitchen help during a fundraiser show.
The Servant Center
Provides transitional and permanent housing for disabled homeless men, along with food assistnance for low-income elderly and disabled clients.
Participants will be painting and staining a deck, doing spring cleaning, and gardening.
Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center
Seeks to help abortion vulnerable women to choose life.
Participants will be assisting with the set-up and tear-down with the Walk for Life. Preschooler Friendly
Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem
Provides a home away from home for families of children who are receiving medical care in our community's hospitals.
Participants will be doing spring cleaning.
Greensboro Manor
A short-term nursing facility
Participants will be making companionship visits. Preschooler Friendly
The Salvation Army Center of Hope
Can provide 20 single women, 36 single men, and 10 families with food and emergency transitional housing.
Participants will be power washing buildings and sidewalks.
Summit House
An alternative to incarceration for female felons who are pregnant or have young children. They opened a new facility in February.
Participants will be leading a party for moms and children. Preschooler Friendly.
The Bell House
Provides programs and residential services to physically disabled adults are eighteen or older whose primary physical disabilities are orthopedic or neurological. We have two opportunities for service at The Bell House.
Participants will be landscaping. Preschooler Friendly

Next Step Ministries
Provides shelter and daily care to women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. We have two opportunityes for service at Next Step Ministries.
Participants will be landscaping and doing handyman jobs.
Next Step Ministries Thrift Shop
Provides Shelter and daily care to women and their children who are victims of domestic violence
Participants will be building shelves and doing spring cleaning. Preschooler Friendly.
Ray Warren Homes Boys and Girls Club
Inspires and enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
Participants will be leading a block party. Preschooler Friendly.
Northwest Guilford High School
A local public high school for students in grades 9-12.
Participants will be making care packages for teachers and staff. Preschooler Friendly.
Tabitha House
Helps women coming from abusive situations, addiction, and prison. They provide a loving, faith-based home environment. Their main objective is to build their confidence and restore their dignity, while equipping them for success in society.
Participants will be power washing a house.
Water Bottle Distribution
To share the living water in the parks and community of our area.
Participants will be involved in park evangelism. Preschooler Friendly.
